Monitor the Health of Your Horse in Training

Injury prevention in a horse in training is much easier and less costly than having to cure an injury. That's why it's so important to monitor a horse's health status regularly, especially if training hard.  Horses in training are susceptible to injuries, particularly in their limbs. Regular use of thermal imaging gives horse owners valuable information to help keep their horse healthy and prevent injury.

When monitoring regularly with thermal imaging, the thermal imaging camera can see changes in a horse's body. Once a stressed area is detected, training programs can be modified to reduce the stress, yet still allow the horse to continue to train with an adjusted program.

Thermal imaging is a valuable tool in detecting stressed areas in a horse's body. These stressed areas can actually be viewed through thermal imaging up to three weeks in advance of visual symptoms, giving horse owners the opportunity to handle issues before they become a true medical problem. IRT is fast, accurate, convenient and affordable.

As with any adjunctive imaging screening (such as ultrasound, radiography etc.), thermography is not a stand-alone screening tool and does not replace any other diagnostic device. Additional diagnostic screenings may be necessary and prescribed by your veterinarian for complete diagnosis.
